Spirit Flow~ shamanic study is a program designed by Shamanic Practitioner Dr. Mary Newstrom, specifically for individuals to study, practice, discuss, and learn to apply shamanic techniques.
Mary creates a warm and supportive environment, offering step-by-step guidance for living a shamanic life. Grounded in purpose, focus, and a deep connection to the spiritual realms, the training helps each participant clarify their soul’s purpose and discover practical ways to bring it into manifestation. Students also form meaningful bonds with their peers, journeying together as they explore living in harmony with divine energy
We all have the ability to experience the transformative power of Spirit when we are fully aligned and open to receiving the guidance and messages that illuminate our path.
Spirit Flow ~
Year One consists of:
with the option to continue with Years 2, 3 & 4.
- Six full-day workshops are held every other month, each offering a deep dive into the rich practices and wisdom of shamanism. Every intensive includes ceremony, journeying, and the study of core concepts and techniques that can be integrated into daily life. The Ancestral Healing training is a special full-weekend immersion.
- Students also receive additional free trainings and workshops, including 90-minute Sunday Gatherings held live over Zoom at least 4 times through-out the year. These gatherings offer a space to connect, share experiences, and discuss insights from ongoing shamanic studies, as well as to engage in deeper shamanic training and guided journeys. All sessions are recorded and available for later viewing.
- Optional activities to foster community include camping trips, drumming circles, group outings, and complimentary healing sessions offered by advanced students.
- Ancestral Healing, part of the intensive training, supports you in healing trauma inherited from your family lineage while also helping you recognize and honor the blessings you have received..
- Six 2-hour live video sessions are offered on the months without the full-day intensive trainings, providing continuing deep shamanic study and practice.
- You also have the option to join the lively Spirit Flow Book Club!

- The option to continue on with Shamanic Training. Spirit Flow ~Year 2 introduces the student to basic shamanic healings such as Spirit Animal Retrievals. Spirit Flow ~ Year 3 trains students in how to conduct soul retrievals, spirit release and curse unraveling. Year 4 allows you to master advanced healing techniques.
What Skills and Knowledge Students
May Expect from the training
- Students will develop abilities to communicate with ancestors and guiding spirits and to understand their messages. This will strengthen students’ capabilities to process and interpret divination messages.
- Students will develop a strong foundation in journeying and ceremonial practices as they learn to create rituals to connect with guiding spirits.
- Students will gain an understanding of how to access shamanic strong eye, also known as deep knowing or intuition.
- Students will raise their vibrational level to attract people into their lives who have a soul connection to them, which will assist students to stay on their true path.
- Students will manage outside energies and build spiritual protection, while gaining deep understanding of the three worlds of non-ordinary reality—the upper, middle and lower world while learning how to safely access these three worlds.
- Students will develop rituals of gratitude through ceremony and prayer.
- Students will build spiritual power by learning personal power songs to sing to their guiding spirits.
- Students will learn to communicate to Spirit outside of time, gaining greater awareness and understanding of best practices that make for a successful journey.
- Students will develop a strong connection to the spirit of the land, trees, and the elements to build spiritual strength.
- Students will explore how to offer authentic service to others.
- Students will develop a routine of journaling and spiritual writing to develop a deeper understanding of their soul’s purpose.
- Students will learn how to practice spiritual lightness of laughter and letting go, while achieving a spiritual flow to find joy and meaning in life.
- Students will have in-depth guidance from Dr. Mary Newsom in processing and interpreting the messages they receive—also known as direct revelation.
- Students will develop a spiritual connection to nature, animals, and elements.
Spirit Flow training is appropriate for both new shamanic practitioners and those with previous experience.
The women’s Year One program is an established Spirit Flow offering and is confirmed to move forward. It is offered live via video conferencing, with an optional in-person format available for the day-long intensive trainings.
In-person training is held at the Zenith High Healing and Wellness Studio in Saint Louis Park/Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Spirit Flow – Year One for Men — Currently Forming
A men’s Year One group is currently forming based on interest and enrollment. The program will move forward once sufficient enrollment is reached.
For men, the day-long intensive trainings will be offered in person, with all additional training sessions provided live via video conferencing. In-person training is held at the Zenith High Healing and Wellness Studio in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota.

Years Three and Four move into advanced, master-level teachings, including spirit release, soul retrieval, and curse unraveling, supporting you in developing greater depth, confidence, and mastery along your shamanic path.

Dr. Mary Newstrom is an internationally recognized Shamanic Teacher and Practitioner, founder of Zenith High, and creator of Spirit Flow ~ Shamanic Study. With over three decades of study under some of the most respected shamanic teachers in the United States, she has also trained extensively with Shipibo Shamans in the Amazon basin of Peru, deepening the skills and insights she brings to her programs.
Mary holds a doctoral degree in psychology and is certified in Health and Wellness Consulting. Her dedication to the environment, animals, and social equity is reflected in her policy work in GLBT civil rights, environmental advocacy, and social justice, as well as her long-time volunteer service in the Master Naturalist program.
Based in Minneapolis, MN, Dr. Newstrom travels widely, collaborating with visionary leaders to offer transformative shamanic experiences to students around the world.

Once accepted into the training, a non-refundable deposit 199.75 plus 8 dollar service fee is required to hold your spot. This deposit will be applied to the final month’s tuition.

Spirit Flow for Women — Day-Long Intensive Trainings
Spirit Flow combines live, day-long intensive training with additional live Zoom sessions throughout the year.
The day-long intensive trainings are offered in person at the Zenith High Healing & Wellness Studio in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota, or live via Zoom, giving you the flexibility to participate in the format that works best for you.
